  • worst sound system ever

There is NO ability to adjust the sound between front and rear. May as well not have rear speakers. Lexus told me that the car was designed that way. If so, the designer should be hung. Worse sound than the radio on my first car - a 1957 Plymouth. Had I "test drove" the radio before buying, I would have walked right out the door. And - while the car does everything better than my 2014 model (better build, quieter, faster, tighter, better handling, more room) the bad radio and the dangerous touchpad controller for the info system (you cannot change anything using that touchpad without looking away from the road) make me regret buying it
  • Had an oil leak after a week of purchase

Because I owned a 2003 Lexus ES 300, and loved it, I had no doubt I would purchase another Lexus ES. I drove my 2003 Lexus ES 300 for 16 years and up to 270,000 miles. I recently purchased a 2019 Lexus ES 350, the premium package. The car was certified with a few thousand miles and never registered to anyone. I was told it's still considered a new car. After a week of my purchase, the low oil engine light came on. I took the car back to the dealership. The service department confirmed the car was losing oil somewhere. The oil was not leaking from the car but going back into the engine. They offered to repair the car since there's a warranty on it. I was so disappointed after spending so much money on a car that has an oil leak after only one week of my purchase. I haven't had a new car in many years. It appears the new cars are made with cheaper parts and material. The material on the exterior side mirrors appears to be made with a cheap plastic material. Come on Lexus, get it together. I had faith that I would be able to drive my 2019 Lexus for 16 years or up to 250,000 with NO troubles. I'm not too sure of this now.
  • Nice upgrade, at last, to the Lexus flagship

I’ve owned or own three other cars by Lexus - a 2011 IS250, a 2014 IS350 F sport, a 2018 RX350, and now the new, 2019 Lexus ES350. Lexus has finally added some aggressive styling elements to the exterior, and most important, the interior. This is NOT the ES they have been making since 1990. The dash layout is centered on the driver, and looks very similar to the layout of the ultra luxury LS. The car is quiet and solid with excellent acceleration. In short, everything just works. Typical Lexus. As for the much maligned Infotainment system, I don’t have any problems with it. They replaced the mouse with a trackpad and while it requires a delicate touch, it’s easy to get used to. I wish they made an AWD model, and that’s my only disappointment. (The ES is FWD only.)
