Every year Fernley is proud to host their own Relay for Life event in support of community members affected by cancer. Dolan Fernley Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM is excited to help the American Cancer Society raise money for cancer patients, survivors, and families who have lost their loved ones.

The Relay for Life Fernley will start on July 13th at 8am, ongoing for 24-hours! The non-stop relay event symbolizes the unceasing battle that cancer patients experience. This day is stacked with fundraising opportunities to support the individuals in our community battling cancer to feel cared for, loved, and encouraged

Here is the agenda for the day:

  1. Opening Ceremony: This is the time for all teams to gather and remember the purpose of the event, listen to live music, and celebrate life together.
  2. Survivor and Caregiver lap: Before the start of the event, there is a moment for the crowd to rally behind and celebrate the survivors, fighters, and caregivers as they take the first lap embracing the fight for life.
  3. Time to Celebrate: As the relay commences, team members take turns walking and running laps to represent how cancer patients are constantly fighting for life to overcome this disease. Between laps, there are different tents filled with a variety of fundraising opportunities, a food and beverage selection, and fun activities.
  4. Lighting the Luminaria at 8pm: Towards the end of the day, there is a ceremony to light the luminaria bags to line the track during the night. This is a moment to remember and celebrate the survivors, victims, and loved ones lost.
  5. Closing Ceremony: At the end of the 24-hour event, teams gather to recognize all the hard work from the volunteers and participants, who are passionate about standing with those fighting cancer.
